The coast, which spreads 200 km from the French border to the town of Blanes, is often called "wild" or "rocky". Meandering coastline, bizarre rock formations, cozy bays and rich flora make this area one of the most beautiful places in Europe. It has a unique microclimate due to its location. In summer and winter the place is protected from wind and weather by the Pyrenees Mountains. These small resort towns have a lot of interesting attractions: there are stunning castles, amazing galleries, beautiful watchtowers and magnificent churches.
Among them the most picturesque is Tossa de Mar, which has a fortress and museum which keeps works by the French Impressionists and masterpieces of Dali and Chagall.
